Our History
By Perez Muchunguzi
Amazing home was started as a result of a set of circumstances that involved loss of parents to HIV-AIDS and coming face to face with suffering children. In 1997, my mother passed away who was at the time the bread winner as my dad had passed away three years before both as a result of HIV-AIDS.

Like many children in this situation, I was then charged with the
responsibility of taking care of my siblings including educating them. One of them, whom I had paid school fees for from senior one was bewitched and became sick while in senior five, making it difficult for her to continue with school.

It was in search of her healing that we went to church where they prayed for her and she became well. While at this
church, my wife and I met with many people that had problems ranging from malnutrition to dropping out of school to homelessness especially children and so we decided to help some children as we could.

One by one, the number grew up to a point where registration was necessary. While we were registered in April 2012,
the very first child came in late 2006.

And like that,
Amazing Home came into being with a general objecting of bringing hope into hopeless situations attending to both spiritual and physical needs of people.

A hopeless situation is not hard for us to understand, having been homeless at a time while schooling, went to school without fees and even fed on dog’s food once. We are
grateful for what the Lord has done!
